The kiddies life-skills development and exposure program ends on a good note today as 20 of the girls and boys toured The Zambezi Explorer in Victoria Falls. It was an amazing experience seeing how much joy the children had and passion some of they carried away from the event.
Special thanks goes to Michelle Gapara the Founder of Bella Bright Enterprises for organizing this holiday life-skills program and The Zambezi Explorer for hosting the children.
Today we reach you from Chezya and Makwa Primary Schools – situated 160kms along the Zambezi Valley were we successfully trained 91 School Development Committee members in the two schools and set up their play grounds.
We take pride in supporting the education of children and believe that an investment in education pays the best dividends hence our efforts.
Yesterday we could not hold back our excitement as children and the community of Sizinda received a donation of Early Childhood Development Education (ECD) chairs, desks and indoor play equipment at our Sizinda Child Friendly Centre. The donation was made possible by Jenny H Roberts who worked with us over the past 3 weeks. This donation is key in improving the quality of ECD education in our local community. See pictures below of children receiving the donation.
Last Friday we took part in the UNCity staff bar in Copenhagen. It was enlightening to see and interact with over 200 people from different UN departments who came to support UNICA. Meanwhile, 6 youth leaders leave Denmark to implement what they gathered during their one month training in Denmark by DUF. Watch this space for more as we talk about our work in Zimbabwe with MS – Action Aid on the 21st March in Copenhagen.
